I bought this fabric in Singapore as I adored the colors of the flamingoes - aqua blue & mauve pink on white. Thought it made an interesting combination.
Decided to work only with these 2 colours (shades of it) and came up with a log cabin design (an 'L' design) around the flamingo block. The block is 6" and the strips are 2" each strip.
Did 12 blocks altogether and after the log cabin, went with a 3" off-white fabric with tiny pink dots as its 1st border. Couldn't decided how to finish it off . . . . with the blue or the pink ?
Backing fabric was lite blue polkadots . . . 
Went either way with the finishing - the L side that had more pink, I finished off with blue fabric and the L side that had more blue, went with pink ! Did the same with the binding :-)I like the effect !
